Mackey Barron was born February 19, 1920 and died on October 27, 2015.
Mackey established HB in 1946 upon his return from WWII where he served as an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel pilot and spent over a year as a POW in Stalag 3 Prison camp in Germany. As President of HB Communications, Inc. his leadership was instrumental in growing and guiding HB for more than 6 decades. Furthermore, he is also viewed as a pioneer and leader in the AV Industry. “It is our ability to imagine what the future holds for us that helps us evolve as a company.” Our goal at HB is to continue his legacy, commitment to integrity and staying on the forefront of technology.
John joined HB in mid 2003 with extensive financial experience gained in the telecommunications, software and automotive industries. Prior to joining HB, John was CFO of TransPro, Inc., a manufacturing distribution company that he helped take public on the NYSE, and Engyro, Inc., an e-commerce start-up that he helped found.
Ted has been with HB since 2001 and has over twenty-two years of experience managing information technology at the enterprise level. Before coming to HB, he was the Director of IS for CNET Networks and Ziff Davis Publishing (eWeek, PC Magazine, ZDNet) in Cambridge, MA. In addition to IT strategy, Ted manages HB’s pre-sales and systems engineering teams for video conferencing, unified communications and digital media. Ted is an active member in the Cisco Telepresence Advisory Council and the Polycom Partner Council to advocate for HB customers and to help shape market strategy in the collaboration industry.
George has more than thirty years’ experience in audiovisual sales. He has been with HB since 1989 as a specialist in sales and project management of audiovisual and video display systems. George was named Vice President of Systems Contracting in 1999 and is now responsible for overall management of HB’s sales activities in the systems contracting marketplace in New England. George was named Executive Vice President in 2015.
Jim has been in the AV industry for over 25 years and with HB Communications since 1987. Jim started as a “full line” account representative covering Fairfield and Westchester counties, and was named as the director of New Media upon its inception in 1994. This progressive department focused on the emerging non-linear editing market, as well as streaming media, broadcast video, asset management and various content creation tools. In early 2011, Jim became Vice President – Northeast Sales focusing on the MA territory, and was promoted to Executive Vice President in July 2013.
Peter is responsible for HB’s Global Services organization including its managed service offerings and initiatives. He joined HB in the summer of 2012, bringing 20 years of experience in managed and cloud services in the communications and collaboration sectors. His diverse experience includes work with early stage entrepreneurial firms and large, global enterprises. He has previously held senior positions with AT&T, CriticalPath and EMC. While Vice President at FaxNet, he lead sales and marketing efforts which earned the company recognition on Upside Magazine’s “100 Hot Companies” list. He holds an MBA with Deans Honors from Columbia University, a BA from Stonehill College and completed the Strategic Marketing Management program at Harvard Business School.
Donald Guzauckas, Jr. started with HB Group, Inc. in 1989 as an AV Technician. Trained in audio technologies and fascinated by the rapid advances of video and computer graphics, HB quickly became home. He continues to play a key role in the evolution from AV Rental to AV Staging to Event Production, bringing new technologies and offering new services. HB Live's focus on the Engaging Audience Experience is well delivered by the superior Event Production Team that Donald is proud to lead.
